             FONTIMAGE V. 1.15 10/98
Jean Claude Meier with help from Jackie Yu

You probably have a lot of pretty fonts on your computer and,
as programmer, you certainly would be happy to make fantastic
titles with them.

Labels are indicated to do this but you are not sure that your
users have the same fonts on their machines and the result...

Why not create a vectoriel image from the font and put it, instead ?
No possibility by this way ! Because the problem is exactly the same :
the user has to have the original font to see what you wanted to
show him.

A bitmap fits but you have to :

- realize the title
- do a hardcopy
- cut/modify with Paint or another soft
- come back in Delphi and finally put the result in an
  image component.

FontImage is a Component that do all the work.

Also nice for a copyright label ! Don't you think ?

It's a descendant of TImage which puts a bitmap of the text
with the font in the component.

I added 5 new properties :

Titre (String) : text of the title or whatever message.
-----

CouleurFond (TColor) : color around the text.
-----------

Cadre (Frame) None, Standard or 3D Raised/Lowered
-----

DecalHor (integer)
--------
Horizontal distance of text from origin (0;0).

DecalVert (integer)
--------
Vetical distance of text from origin (0;0).

and you can use the property Font of the ancestor (size,
color, name,...)

These new properties can only be accessed in design mode.

The graphic of the font is put in the FontImage when you
enter/modify the text (Titre) and after when you modify
one of these properties.

The old properties of TImage remain and you can use them
as you will.

In particular you can save your picture on disk :

FontImage1.Picture.SaveToFile('Titre1.bmp');

The graphic property also remains but there is no reason
to use it, but ...

Use DecalHor and DecalVert to center the text in the
FontImage.

V. 1.0 first release
V. 1.1 Corrections and position of text and frames
V. 1.15 version more compact

WARNING
=======
The property Ecriture no more exists. It wasn't absolutly
necessary (thanks to Jackie Yu for his co-operation).
If you used one precedent version in your soft, you will have
to reinstall your FontImages. Sorry but it's better for
the future developments of this component.

RUN THE DEMO TEST_IF before recompiling the example to see what
we can do with this component

It's a freeware. Use it at your risks and perils ( :-))

If you are interested by this component, send me an E-Mail,
it would be great !

The .DCR is for D2 and more ... (not tested in D3, D4, but there
is no reason not to work ! But who knows ??? Tell me ...)
