Information on the USEDBY utility
=================================
Version 01 - 16-Nov-96

The purpose of UsedBy is to allow you to select a module in a large
project and find out which other modules are using it. This is useful
for housekeeping large projects where some units may become redundant.
It will also be used in Delphi 3 for examining module coupling when
designing packages.

How it works
============
The program is started with a main DPR or PAS file and optionally a
search path with a list of directories.
The main program is read and any uses statements are extracted. The modules
mentioned are then processed in an iterative manner until we have
processed all the modules in a project. There are only two conditions
that can stop a module being processed. Firstly, if it can not be found
in the main directory or in any of the search directories.
The second condition is if we mention the module name explicitly in
a file called VCLLIST.TXT. This is a simple text file with a list of
all the VCL modules and any library modules you wish to exclude. This
allows you to focus on the project module relationships without having
to wade through all the library references.
The syntax parser in USEPARSE.PAS has a combination of the quick and dirty
as well as the elegant and professional. In finding the USE statements,
a quick and dirty line read method is used looking in column 1.
This is built for speed and simplicity. I apologise if you keep your uses
statements elsewhere.
The second part of the parse actually processes the uses statement. It uses
a finite state machine and I find the method elegant, efficient and
above all in this arena, easy to code a reliable algoritm.

Bugs & Limitations
==================
The program ignores Uses statements that do not start on column 1.
Any other bugs, please let me know by Email.

Limitation of Liability
=======================
Sorry but it's your own fault for using it. What do you expect from
shareware anyway?
