baserunner is a CGI program for Windows or Linux web servers that provides tools for creating dynamic web applications the can access standard dbf-format databases. Using the program your users can display, query, enter, and edit data.

This distribution of baserunner may be used freely for personal use, and may be freely distributed. For other uses, baserunner is shareware, and payment of a registration fee is required. For academic or non-profit use that fee is only $20.00. For commercial or government use, the fee is $60.00. This version of baserunner is fully functional. It does, however, add a link to baserunner.com to each page it generates. With paid licenses, that link is eliminated.

When you unzip (or untar) the distribution file, preserve the diectory structure that it contains.

Three executables are included with the distribution. baserunf.exe that supports FoxPro format (*.fpt) memo fields, baserund.exe that supports dBase format (*.dbt) memo fields, and baserunv.exe that supports dBase IV/Visual dBase format (*.dbt) memo fields.

The executable you choose to use should be renamed baserun.exe. The executables are in the /bin directory. The /bin directory also contains a template for the baserun.cfg file (see install.txt).

The documentation, in HTML format, is included in the /documentation directory. The index.html file in that directory is contains the table of contents and the introduction.

The example directory contains the files for an example baserunner application and for a simple guestbook. The documentation contains information on installing baserunner applications. The install.txt file provides details about installing the example applications.
