I had a situation where I wanted a label below the tabs on a TabStrip control
and above a ListView control. The Label control would not work because it
falls behind the other controls I could have used a picturebox and printed
text on it but I decided to subclass the tabstrip and print directly on it
instead. That is what this project shows how to do. You should be able to
duplicate this with any control that has a hWnd property. You can use it to
print text or draw graphics on different controls and forms.

The TabStrip presented a real challenge because it has no font property. On
my system the font was set a System/Bold/12 Points. Very ugly. The only sub
calls in Form1 are SubClassControl in the Form_Load event, and
UpdateOwnerLabel in the Tab_Click event. Although subclassing the control
and trapping the WM_PAINT event works to maintain the label you will need
to call the UpdateOwnerLabel sub every time you change the label caption in
code. The label caption is what ever text is in the Public variable
sOwnerLabel.

****To Change The Label****
sOwnerLabel = "My new caption"
UpdateOwnerLabel

Because the control is subclassed VB will crash if you use the End Command
from the Run menu or toolbar.

Enjoy,

Greg
