The SmartData OCX is basically an Enhanced Version of the ADODC Control from Microsoft.

What is fundamentally different?
The DataSource is provided by the Programmer
Instead of opening ANOTHER Connection to the Database just supply the Control with a Valid RecordSet.

What is unique is the Express Buttons which will quickly assist in Navigating RecordSets.
Clicking on of the Express buttons returns the RecordSet midway between Current and BOF / EOF
Imagine a RecordSet of 1000 Records and you want to move to Record 252
Here is how you can quickly get there.
If you have a Grid like the example then it is easy. Just Scroll down.
If not then the following is the number of Clicks required:

Example 1
1,000 Records
Required Pos 252
Current Pos: 1
Click Quick Forward - Pos=500
Click Quick Backward - Pos = 250
Click Next twice - Pos = 252
Result 4 Clicks

Example 2
1000000 Records
Required Pos: 625,010
Current Pos: 1
Click Quick Forward - Pos=500,000
Click Quick Forward - Pos=750,000
Click Quick Back - Pos = 375,000
Click Quick Forward - Pos=625,000
Click next 10 Times - Pos=625,010
Result 14 Clicks

I do have to tell you how count exponentially but you can probably see the virtue in moving using this method.

As always the Code is FREE to with what you want. Support is chargeable.
If you make improvements and have the time to email the changes to me - great.
