Treeview and Listview are ActiveX controls used for performing some specific tasks. Good examples of these controls are Windows Explorer. The Left pane contains a Treeview control that shows the Drive (a parent), folders (in Drive - children of Parent Drive) and SubFolders/Files as associated children of their parent nodes, whereas the right pane populates Listview with the associated files. This happens in the node click event of the TreeView in the Left Pane.

In a similar manner, my code uses a recursive technique to read parent nodes from a table named Tree Table, and call the function AddChildren from the same table. The Function AddList populates the Listview control in the right pane, and the click event of the Listview Item opens the associated form/reports from the table named TreeSub.

This example needs the following reference to be made in Visual Basic. Open any module, go to Tools > References and check the following:

>> Visual Basic For Application
>>Microsoft Access 9.0 (For Access 2000) / 11.0 (For Access 2003)
>> OLE Automation
>> Microsoft DAO 3.6 object Library
>> Microsoft Windows Common Controls 5.0 (SP2)

This Tree Table might be useful for the people interested in designing Charts of accounts for an accounting Package. They can take a look through Tree Table which records parents and nodes in a way similar to presenting Accounts/Sub Accounts Ledgers for Accounting Packages.
