This is the combined README/INSTALL/TODO file for cgiLicenseKey.
Let's begin:

"cgiLicenseKey allows the developer to ensure that PHP scripts
 (or other types of CGI applications) are authorized to run.
 This mod_perl module contacts an amSerialManager server and sends
 the key to the server to be approved."

OK, now to install:

1. Unpack this distribution (which you might have already done)
2. Edit cgilicensekey.pm. Make sure that the settings in that file
   are correct (the settings are within the handler() function)
3. Copy cgilicensekey.pm to anywhere on your system and chmod it.
   (chmod +x cgilicensekey.pm; I recommend that the file be in /usr/local/apache/perlmods)
4. Create a startup file for Apache which loads CgiLicenseKey:

   #!/usr/bin/perl

   use lib '/usr/local/apache/perlmods';
   use CgiLicenseKey;

5. Edit conf/httpd.conf (in the Apache directory):

   <Directory "/path/to/php/scripts">
   PerlRequire /usr/local/apache/perlmods/startup.pl
   PerlAuthenHandler CgiLicenseKey
   SetHandler perl-script
   </Directory>

   Of course you can also use a <Files> directive instead of <Directory>

6. Restart Apache (/usr/local/apache/bin/apachectl restart)

There's tons left to do, such as:

* More documentation
* Better configuration for CgiLicenseKey

If there's anything else I should add here, email mooneer@ultraspeed.co.uk.
