1. Installation
2. Using
3. End

1. Installation

	I wouldn't call this step easy, exactly, but it isn't impossible.
You'll need to create a tabled called 'dbe' in the database you want
to use DBE with, using the dbe.out file as a guide. If you are using
the Postgres RDBMS, you can probably load dbe.out by issuing the following

$ psql foo < dbe.out

I made dbe.out against Postgres v6.4.2 but it should work with any version.

	Once you've setup the table (and its associated default values, too!),
you can copy index_file.php3 into your favorite directory, give it an
extension that your Apache installation will recognize as belonging to
PHP, and edit the database values in index_file.php3's header.

	You can copy dbe.php3 and db_library_extension.php3 to any directory
you'd like (I use php3/), making sure you edit the require() statements
in index_file.php3 (and if necessary, dbe.php3) to reflect the locations
of DBE's files.

	My setup is:
		/admin
		* index_file.php3
		/admin/php3
		* dbe.php3
		* db_library_extension.php3
		* db_library.php3 (from PHP Code Exchange)

Using the same setup as above should guarantee that it works out of the
box. (Actually, my /admin/php3 is a sym link to /php3, but that's not
important.)

2. Using

	Point your browser to index_file.php3 (or whatever you rename it to).
The table 'dbe' should show up, assuming my directions make sense, work,
and you followed them as best as possible. Select the 'dbe' table and
then choose "List View". You should see the dbe table's attributes.

* mytable		-	table's name
* id -	the order in which each field will appear in form view
* field -	field's exact name in the table
* vtype -	field's value type: either numeric or text (date is text)
* ftype -	field's type in HTML: either text or textarea
* display -	Okay to display field in lists? Must display if NOT NULL

If that makes any sense, you can continue on to the 'Add' option and
setup fields for each table you'd like DBE to support. Once you've added
all the tables you'd like, you can head back to the 'Menu' and select
one of the newly added tables to play with. You can:

- Add
- Delete
- View in Form Fashion (editable)
- View in List Fashion (viewable - select record's id to edit it)
- Search (NOT YET, see TODO.dbe)

3. End

	If you have any questions (and if you've gotten this far, I bet you
still do!), just drop me a line at the email address listed in every
DBE related file (including this one!).

Good Luck!
