How to set up FREEMED
---------------------

- 'bzunzip2 freemed-????????.tar.bz2' to a temporary directory (/tmp will work)

- 'mv freemed /var/package'

- 'chmod o+w /var/package/lang/reg'

- 'vi /etc/httpd/conf/srm.conf'
	Add:
		Alias /package /var/package
		AddType application/x-httpd-php3 .php3 .phtml .php .inc

	Modify the 'DirectoryIndex' line to add 'index.php3' so it looks
	something like this:
		DirectoryIndex index.html index.shtml index.cgi index.php3

- 'vi /etc/httpd/conf/access.conf'
	Add:
		<Directory /var/package>
		Options Indexes Includes ExecCGI MultiViews FollowSymLinks
		AllowOverride All
		Order allow,deny
		allow from all
		</Directory>

- 'vi /etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf'
	You need to UNCOMMENT the following lines, making sure the '#' (pound
	sign) isn't in front of them. They're commented by default:
		# Extra Modules (SECTION HEADER -- DON'T UNCOMMENT)
		LoadModule php_module     modules/mod_php.so
		LoadModule php3_module    modules/libphp3.so
		LoadModule perl_module    modules/libperl.so

		# Extra Modules (SECTION HEADER -- DON'T UNCOMMENT)
		AddModule mod_php.so
		AddModule mod_php3.so
		AddModule mod_perl.so

- Then you need to restart apache. This can be done with Red Hat Linux by:
	/etc/rc.d/init.d/http restart
  Or you can just HUP it then restart it...
	kill -1 httpd_pid
	httpd

- 'vi /var/package/global.var.inc'
	Modify the lines:
		$db_host="localhost"
			make localhost the hostname of the machine
		$db_user="root"
			make username the user for access to SQL database
		$db_password="password"
			make password the access password for the SQL database,
			if applicable
		$db_engine="mysql"
			If you're using MySQL, then leave this alone. But if
			you're using PostgreSQL, then change this to postgres.
			i.e. $db_engine="postgres";

- You must have your SQL set up BEFORE using freemed, otherwise it won't work.
