detailed information
--------------------

juked uses the standard GNU installation procedure:

./configure
make
make install

There are, however, several extra options you can pass to configure.
These are listed by ./configure --help.
By default 'make install' will put everything under /usr/local/juked.

In addition to the basic installation you will also need to setup
your MySQL database so juked can access it.

The scripts for creating the database are in the juked/scripts
directory. These scripts are also modified by ./configure to create the
default database that juked expects. If you want to change the defaults
use the ./configure options. You can also change all of database
parameters that juked uses using command line options.

Once you have the database set up you can use the perl script provided the
add track to it. See scripts/add_tracks.pl --help for more information.

Juked expects all your MP3s to be located in the same directory.
Some people don't like this so the limitation may be relaxed in future
versions. add_tracks.pl only adds entries to the database. You must
make sure they exist in the correct directory. The directory is hard-coded
in configure.in to /usr/share/mp3. The next version should have a
configure option to change this and a command line option.

This is very much alpha software so you may have to do some script
hacking to get things working.
