1. What is it?

This program is an add-on tool for PACT that will show collected
data in a way similar to MRTG (http://www.mrtg.org). The output is
limited, though, to only monthly views of data, and pretty much
hardcoded to the data saved by collector. There are different options
that may be set through the URL-call, like port number, customer ID or
month. Depending on the calling data, the image is rendered and then
sent to the webbrowser as a PNG stream.

2. What do I need?

At the moment, acct-gfx needs two other packages in order to
compile and work. On is the uncgi-package from Steven Grimm, found at
http://www.midwinter.com/~koreth/uncgi.html. You need to compile uncgi
as a link-in-module, that is you need an "uncgi.o". Put the path to the
object in the Makefile.

The second package is the GD library from Thomas Boutell, found
at http://www.boutell.com/gd (he has quite a few useful utils there,
check it out!). You may need additional packages, like the zlib or the
png-library, read the included docs ...

3. Compiling and installing

Prior to compiling acct-gfx, check the supplied Makefile and
change paths to how you have the files located in your system.
Especially the install-path of your cgi-directory needs to be correct.
After that, check the data in the acct-gfx.c file and change to your
system's configuration (especially the master PW need to access your
accounting data). After that, a "make" and "make install" should work.

4. Bugs and other undesired features

This is the first release of this tool. At the moment, I'm not
100% satisfied with either the looks (in PACT, only the plain graphics
are displayed, resulting in a non-CI-look ...) nor the security (no PW
checks when displaying a graph ...), so there will most certainly be
some changes for the next release. Anyway, I felt it was time I got at
least a preview-version out the door, so people could comment on it ...
Other than the mentioned, I'm not aware of any problems or bugs in the
program ... use the regular PACT bug-report-mechanism at
pact.insider.org to report any problems or feature requests ...
