                             phpImageGallery v.8b
                  by Necr0mancer <stargate@globalserve.net>
                 -------------------------------------------

Summary: In short, this script will cut down on the typing required to
create a small image gallery on the web, including linking the
images to either larger images, or external sites. The user
mainly inserts the desired images into the array's and everything
else is done for you. I will be the first to admit the code is
sloppy, but it's my first php release, so dont complain! :)

Purpose: Well, to be honest, there is no purpose to this quick lil script.
I mainly wrote it to kill some spare time, but if it finds an
audiance, or I find that its a lot more useful than I originaly
thought, I'll consider furthering its existance. I searched
freshmeat.net for 'gallery' and took a browse thru the results.
What I saw, well, was better than mine. I admit that, but only
in what they can do. This script is exactly that, a script, its
not a set of programs that will automate the proccess, and then
make you a coffee in the morning. And unlike the other programs,
all you need to run this script, is php3+ and a website, no other
database, parsing, etc programs. This script was designed to be
simple, yet effective. I truly think it does all that. :)

ToDo: There is much todo with this script, that is, if I decide to
continue with development. Namely I'd like to cut down on the
need for the repetitave nature of the code, just use a for loop,
but as that would take a fairly major rewrite, I think I'll
choose to have it sloppy for the time being, I'll get around to
fixing it at a later time.

Install: Installation couldnt really be easier :) take a look at the
sample included in the sample directory.

         1) unpack the compressed file (since you are reading this, i'm
            guessing you've got this far)
         2) put the gallery.php3 where you want it.
         3) edit gallery.php3 and change any variables you want.
         4) edit gallery.php3 again, and add your picture/link files where
            you are told to.
         5) integrate the script into your website, either direct link it
in order to integrate it, use the following php command:
            <?include("path/to/script/gallery.php3");?>
         6) fire off an e-mail to <stargate@globalserve.net> telling me
you are using it, and what site its being used at, so I'm able
to judge how many people are using it.
         7) have a beer for a job well done! :)

Licence: Please use and distribute my script, just please, if you change
it, or even hack it to death, send me an e-mail
<stargate@globalserve.net> telling me what you did, why, and
perhaps sending me a copy wouldnt be so bad. And please give me
         credit for it :)
