2,00

This directory contains what was going to be version 2,0 of Postlister.
All changes were made by me. The files functions.php and import.php
were modified. I don't remember if I touched other files - I don't
think so, though.

In functions.php I tried to setup some SQL functions in order to
make it possible to use Postlister with PostgreSQL as well as MySQL.
The fetch_array function does not work yet due to problems with the
pg_fetch_array function: The last argument is the number of the row to
fetch, and that number should of course not always be 0 - it should
increase each time the loop runs.

In import.php I made it possible to import a file from the local
computer (as opposed to a file on the server).

(laurent.penou@gadz.org). The changes are marked with "/*LP".

Suggestions by Laurent Penou:

" I think that having only the subscribe and confirm script in the main folder
and all others script in a subfolder (admin for example) will be easier
because managing realm security as you did is not always possible
(not on my personal provider server) but managing .htaccess is more
frequent".

Changes made by Daniel Balcercik (db25@ukc.ac.uk).

Suggestions from him:

"in attachment arew missing language files, as I didnt touched them, and also
.htaccess

Changes to v 1.14
-switched to persistent connection (may be better in speed)
-a bit customised error messages in case of the mysql_* errors
-got rid of function sidehoved(); - using new file header.php instead
-changed README.html to readme.php (consistent with rest of the program)
-moved $version from function.php to settings.php (now easier to find and
change version, IMO)
-new link to Postlister in header.php
-showing version number, in header.php (keep it growing :)
-once selected mailing list, no need anymore while using Postlister (i found
it very annoing :(
-now showing which mailing list we are using
-title is showing actions a bit accurately
-???

Todo:
translation to english of all scripts (functions and variables) and also
mysql stuff (please, please, i dont have dictionary for your language)
? footer.php including Copyleft stuff :) and link to your site
-better email address verification when submiting (fdag@dfsds.srh is not
correct email)
-import/export better error handling in case of problems with files/dirs
? function print is really printing what we want to?
? get rid of javascript, if possible (just my personal dislike)
? what about saving old lists into database and showing, when we want to
write new one. The content -my be used again, saving re-typing the same
stuff ..
-possibility to insert name surname <email@address.com> through Add/delete
subscribers would be nice".

Suggestions from several people:

- One or two people think that Postlister should be able to send out HTML mails.

- Several people want the subscription confirmation thing to be optional - that is,
the administrator should be able to turn it on or off on a per-list basis.

- More than one administrator.

- Some suggestions from one guy:
"a monthly reminder (automated) with following information:
- user information (eMail)
- mailinglist information (which list?)
- additional information (text field) for example how to subsribe to
anonther mailinglist
or how to unsubsribe".
"- Is it possible to ad ability to clientele processing?
- Is it possible to ad the first and last name (also: RCPT_firstname;
RCPT_lastname for inclusion in a message)?
  It would be more personal!!!
- Is it possible to choose severall lists (file: subsribe.php)?"
