This is an extension module for swig. You can use swigphp to generate
"php module wrapper code" from C functions and C++ classes. Take a look in
the example directory for a demonstration how to easily create a php
extension module from standard C or C++ sources.

To compile and install swigphp use the following commands:

  # ./configure
  # make
  # make install

The typemap is installed in /usr/local/share/swig/php by default. If you
have the swig library installed in /usr/share/swig use this parameter:

  # ./configure --datadir=/usr/share

After compiling and installing you have a new swig binary named 'swigphp'
in /usr/local/bin. Use this binary instead of the original swig binary
to generate PHP wrapper source code.

What swigphp can do:

  * Wrap C functions
  * Wrap C++ methods

What swigphp can't do right now:

  * Wrap global variables
  * Wrap global constants
  * Wrap class variables
  * Wrap class constants

swigphp understands the following data types right now:

  * Booleans
  * Integers
  * Float
  * C Strings
  * C++ Strings
  * Stringlists (vector<string>)
  * Stringmaps (map<string,string>)

New datatypes can be added by hand using the typemap file. If you have
created usefull typemap entries, please sent them to me (k.reimer@twisd.de).
I will then integrate them into the package.
