Intro

All I wanted was a counter that would store visits withouth having to deal with perl or C.
If that´s your case and you use php, you´ll find this counter *very easy*.

It simply stores the number of page hits inside a text file.

Installation

Run the install.sh script with the install dir parameter, like this:

install.sh zcounter

Now, edit the example.php3 file to change the parameter of the require function with your installation dir.
It´ll create a directory containing the counter script file and the data text file.
You´re ready to go. Run the example.php3 file to see it in action!

Read this - really

Well, this is just a *very simple* text counter. It won´t keep track of user sessions and that kind of thing.
It´ll simply increase each time a user hits your page.
If you need something facier, I´m sure you´ll be able to find at www.freshmeat.net . :-)
